If you’re a lover of wine and have always wanted an outdoor wedding, vineyard wedding venues are the perfect option! Vineyards have so much natural beauty and romance that you can maximise for your special day.
It’s all in the details
Start with your invitations – they set the tone, mood, and theme of your wedding. Embrace the greenery and natural elements of the vineyard with fonts and fun details, like dried flowers, that bring through the beauty of your venue. Maybe your invitations could also include a bottle of wine or a personalised wine glass charm for an extra special touch? You can carry this theme through to your wedding decor with similarly designed cards, menus, coasters, and signage.
Rich (colour) palettes
Vineyards often have beautiful green hues and rustic wood or exposed brick that pair perfectly with a rich colour theme. For lovers of red wine maybe you’ll opt for deep burgundy or purple tones, while rosé drinkers might prefer soft blush tones. Have fun with your colour palette – it’s the perfect opportunity to bring through your personality. Once you’ve decided on your theme, carry these colours through to your bouquet, floral arrangements, decorations and even bridesmaids dresses. And most importantly – your wine of choice!
All-in-one location
Most vineyards have the capacity to host your ceremony and your reception on-site, which means no rushing between venues and more time for making memories, drinking wine and celebrating with your loved ones. An added bonus is that wineries and private estates typically have excellent wet weather backup options, which means your special day will be picture perfect in rain, hail or shine.

Good food and great wine
Wineries have a wonderful reputation for serving farm-to-table fresh quality produce that pairs perfectly with a vino, or two. The menu and wine list at vineyards are outstanding and the venue manager or your wedding planner will be able to help you craft your drinks list to suit your taste (pun intended) and budget.
On the topic of good food, you can’t go past wine’s best friend – cheese. If you’re wanting a different take on the traditional wedding cake, cheese wheel cakes are a great alternative that not only look spectacular but taste delicious. You can accessories with fruits such as figs and grapes for an extra touch.

Magical photo opportunities
Vineyards go hand in hand with incredible scenery – grapevines, rolling hills, lush gardens and plenty of rustic charm. If you can, arrange to meet your photographer at the venue prior to your wedding day so that you cal scope the best locations for your photos in advance. Another bonus is that there is plenty of natural light, which will make your photographer very happy!

Thank you gifts – wine not?!
You can thank your guests with mini wine bottles from the vineyard for them to remember your special day. For an extra special touch, personalise the wine labels with your name, wedding date or a wine-related pun. You’re welcome to use some of the puns we’ve managed to squeeze into this blog…thank us later.
