Here on Tamborine Mountain we are blessed with so many beautiful landscapes that never fail to take your breath away. Being 525m above sea level really elevates the senses and ensures incredible views from all over the hilltop.
The mountain is rich in beautiful red soil, courtesy of its geological origins – a lava flow from the Mt Warning volcanic eruption some 22 million years ago, so the flora + fauna is distinctly unique and diverse as a result. The mountain rises at the start of the north-east section of the Scenic Rim, which comprises a large group of mountains here in South East Queensland.
This region is a picturesque pocket of countryside and we love sharing all that Tamborine Mountain offers you for your Wedding Day! So let us take you on a virtual adventure to discover some of the most memorable scenery you can look forward to finding up here on your most special of days.
There are a few beautiful waterfalls on the mountain that offer spectacular settings for some standout wedding portraits. Curtis Falls above is found on the top of the mountain via Dapsang Drive and then by following a short, easy bush walking track. There are plenty of big logs and rocks for you to get a bit adventurous with your photographer.
Cedar Creek Falls shown below is located halfway down the mountain at the turn off to Cedar Creek Lodges wedding venue, just follow the signs and then take a little walk to find these big rocky falls that make a great visual impact.
Both are beautiful spots that our local photographers love to frequent, with plenty of big logs and rocks for you to get a bit adventurous to nail the shot.
In this same vicinity you can find this impressive fallen tree that straddles the Cedar Creek and sweet rock pools below – which always makes for an incredible portrait at any time of day.
Arguably the most famous viewpoint on the mountain to take in the view westward is the Hang Glider’s Lookout. Offering unsurpassed beauty at sunset, looking out to the Great Dividing Range, this is an unforgettable must-see and stop-to-enjoy location.
If you love fields of wide open country, wild flower gardens, rolling green hills or country lanes, then Tamborine Mountain can also provide these gorgeous settings that are even more beautiful in real life than in your prettiest dreams. When you book one of our local photographers and share your ideas with them, they will help you with suggestions for photographs – being locals, they know all the best hidden gems and spot that it’d take you years to find on your own.
The Tamborine Botanic Garden is another gorgeous spot to savour for your wedding portraits, with beautiful rainforest pockets, covered walkways, ornate rose gardens, a pretty pond with sweet bridges and almost every flower on display that you can think – this is always a favourite with our local photographers.
Last but certainly not least, if you love a good wine – then Tamborine Mountain also has its own share of beautiful vineyards and there are a couple where you can wander through the vines which always makes for stunning wedding portraits.
