‘Greenery’, the namesake given to 2017’s “Pantone Colour of the Year” is… you guessed it… green! This is the colour that is weaving its way through all aspects of fashion around every corner of the globe, which means it’s also dominating the wedding industry at large and we are noticing it… and loving it, just quietly.

A revitalizing and refreshing shade, Greenery symbolizes new beginnings and as the experts at the Pantone Colour Institute {the world-renowned authority on colour and provider of colour systems} stated; “Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage, Greenery is nature’s neutral and a great harmonizer merging undertones of cool blues with vibrant yellows. A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.”

With all of that said, we hilltop folk know this colour to be the perfect cinderella-slipper-fit for our mountain location. The fact that it’s now in vogue just makes it even more perfect! We’ve been completely swept up in the hype that Greenery brings to the wonderful world of weddings, where this breathtaking region serves up a plateau full of heavenly venues and escapism from big, loud, busy city life… back into quiet, restorative and humbling nature. Just think of all the swoon-worthy backdrops on offer here; vineyards and wineries, ornate gardens, rainforests and waterfalls, romantic lodges and heritage manors, secluded retreats hidden in the forest and views for miles across valleys through to the sea.

Greenery is reassuring and “reflects the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” A natural complement and grounding force to a wide range of colour palettes, the options when using this hue are simply endless and wondrous.  “Like the spectrum of possibilities in colourful petals and blooms paired with lush green leaves, plants and trees, Greenery provides a pop of colour in accessories and footwear, or acts as a bold accent in a pattern.”

Refreshingly earthy and crisp bouquets, tablescapes, invitations, bridesmaid gowns, florals and wedding cakes will become hero-like centrepieces for your organically elegant, nature-filled mountain wedding. Creating your personal colour palette will be lots of fun – so much so in fact, that we couldn’t stop ourselves from rummaging up a little inspiration to get you started!
