Tamborine Mountain is located in ‘the green behind the gold’, a well coined phrase to describe the vast, lush hinterland behind the Gold Coast, Queensland. A mere 40 minutes drive from the golden beaches of the coast and just over an hour from the big city lights of Brisbane, here you will find a slower pace where life feels more in tune with nature and the beauty that surrounds us. This picturesque plateau stretches some 28 square kilometres and stands an impressive 525m above sea level, offering incredible 360 degree views spanning the coastline, big city skies and rich mountain landscapes of the countryside.

When you’re planning a Wedding on Tamborine Mountain there are many factors that you need to take into account. First of all, you’ll need to decide on your chosen venue for your ceremony and reception! With so many different options available up here, there are different styles of venues to match every kind of bridal taste. There are also plenty of options that allow you to marry and celebrate in style all in the once convenient location – this is probably one of our biggest planning tips because it makes everything so much easier to coordinate and much more relaxing & enjoyable on the day too.

The decision that goes hand-in-hand with your choice of venue, is that of your chosen wedding date.

From the outset, when you get engaged, start by talking about which year will work best for your budget planning purposes… and then from there, decide what time of year that you would like to marry. Do you want a Spring or Autumn wedding for example. Try if you can, to remain as flexible as possible with this. Then if you can (again), narrow the season down to a chosen month or two, but remain flexible with this. Ideally if you can have two seasons picked out as your favourites in your chosen year, then this will make things easier when you discuss dates with your chosen venue.

It’s also worth considering a mid-week wedding date rather than a Saturday, which is always by far the most popular day for weddings. There is nothing worse than being so fixed on a chosen wedding day and date and then not being able to actually book the venue that you really want! Trying ways to free up your options will really pay off in the planning stakes.

One other main supplier to consider before you book in your chosen venue, is that of your wedding photographer. We have so many incredible local photographers whose professional skill speaks for itself and who literally know this mountain like the back of their hands – these few have all the ‘dream location’ spots up their sleeve we assure you, so you need to check them out! Videographers are also in high-demand these days, I mean who doesn’t want their very own bespoke wedding film to relive the magic when the anniversary date rolls around each year – and we have two stand-out local favourites who simply rock the ‘wedding filming’ gig!

Try to have narrowed down who you would really like to photograph & film your big day, then check with them whether they have the date that you’ve been discussing with your venue, available – if they do, lock them both in on the same day. Venues and suppliers will often even hold dates on a tentative basis for a few short days, in order for you to coordinate multiple booking arrangements just like this. They know what it’s like at the end of the day and are all too happy to assist!

Next up, you’ll need to start researching celebrants and our six local professionals are again in the know when it comes to all things Tamborine Mountain weddings. We advise you read up on a celebrant’s services, learn about what special elements they will bring to your special day and narrow down a few to arrange a meeting with over a cuppa. You’ll know very quickly whether someone is the right match for you both as a couple and remember that feeling comfortable and at ease with your celebrant is one of the most important attributes…after all, you’ll need to be able to have a laugh and even a few tears with them on the big day and you will want to feel calm and relaxed about doing so. We advise you book in your chosen date with your celebrant as quickly as possible after you’ve booked your venue to avoid disappointment.
